Missing the Green Light

Nobyembre 16, 2008

TriNoma’s first mall-wide sale is at its end and I was a total No-Show.

It was partly because of the hearsays regarding a planned terrorist attack (particularly in Ayala Center, Makati) sometime this month. A scanned copy of the memorandum (supposedly for PNP circulation only) is now being forwarded by friends, family and colleagues to almost everyone who is residing, working or shopping in that area. Although TriNoma is far from Makati, it can still serve as a good target. Scary!

It was also partly because of my sudden urge to lessen my expenses. December is fast approaching and if I continue my ‘maluhong’ lifestyle, I may find myself broke on Christmas.

And it was also because of my anticipation that TriNoma will again be overly crowded with people (not necessarily shoppers) from the parking area to the farthest corner of the mall.

Anyway, does anyone know when TriNoma will be included in SureSeats.com?

Random Dialogues: Starbucks Planner 2009

Nobyembre 16, 2008

Yesterday, my friends Vivora* (broker), Pachuchai* (flight attendant), Daddo* (bum) and I met at Starbucks somewhere in Legaspi Village for some coffee:

Vivora: Oi! Look at the new Starbucks Planner!

Vivora’s loud ‘announcer sa Bingguhan sa probinsya’ voice got everyone (even the people at the next table) looking at the counter.

Daddo: Is it a set, or does it come in three colors?
Giuseppe: I think you get to choose one…
Vivora: I like the red one, very trendy…
Pachuchai: Starbucks ‘is’ trendy. I don’t think they have it elsewhere.
Giuseppe: I spent a fortune just to get one last year. I ended up not using it at all.
Daddo: So, will you get one this year?
Giuseppe: I don’t think so.
Pachuchai: No, I’m leaning towards drinking water na lang.
Vivora: I think I’ll just buy a planner at Fino.
Giuseppe: Amen!

We all finished our Christmas coffee blends and went back to our own lives.
